Who we are
Our website address is https://barninthesticks.com. We’re a Wisconsin-based small business and farm.
What information we collect
Through our contact form: When you fill out a form on our site, we collect your name, email address, optional company name, and the message you send us. We use this only to respond to you. We don’t sell, rent, or share this information with anyone outside the services we use to operate our site (see below).
Through comments (if enabled): If you leave a comment on a blog post, we collect what you wrote, your name, email, and your IP address. This helps us identify spam and respond to you if needed.
Through cookies: Our site uses standard cookies to make features work. If you log in (which only site administrators do), we set login cookies. Visitors browsing the site don’t typically have cookies set unless they comment.
Who we share your information with
We use a few third-party services to operate our site. They have their own privacy policies and only see the data necessary to do their job:
- Brevo processes outgoing emails from our contact form. They handle email delivery only.
- GoDaddy hosts our website and email.
- Embedded content (like YouTube videos on our pages) follows YouTube’s privacy policy. Watching an embedded video may set cookies from those services.
We don’t sell your data to anyone. Ever.
How long we keep your information
Contact form submissions are stored on our site indefinitely so we can respond to you and reference past conversations. If you’d like your information deleted, email chad@barninthesticks.com and we’ll remove it.
Comments are stored as long as the post they’re attached to is published.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we have about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information entirely
Email chad@barninthesticks.com with any of these requests and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
How we protect your information
We use standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, secure password requirements, and reputable third-party services. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
